Crafted in brown leather with brass hardware. studs detailing. Key lock closure in the center (not working) with two side latch closures (in working condition). Inside, it is stamped with the "1 rue Scribe Paris - Louis Vuitton - 149 New bond St. London". According to the internal inscription, the suitcase should date back to the late 20s - early 30S. The first Louis Vuitton boutique was opened in 1854 in rue de Capuccines, Paris. After the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1872), Louis Vuitton had a setback in his career; his entire business was destroyed, but he managed to re-establish the business. He opened a new boutique-workshop in the elegant Rue Scribe, in central Paris, and the business grew even bigger than it was before the war. IN 1885, Louis Vuitton opened its first store outside of France on Oxford Street in London. "149 New bond St. London" is the address of the third London store after Oxford Street's store and Strand Stree's Store, opened in 1889.
