When Emile Hermès decided to sell watches from the greatest watchmakers in his store in 1928, he managed to have the Maison Hermès signature affixed to the pieces sold in his premises at 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. It was in 1978 that the House embarked on the watchmaking adventure with the creation of its own models.
